How We Build Our Consensus Rankings

Data Collection

We collect big boards and mock drafts from 17 sources, updated as new mocks are published leading up to the draft. Our sources include:

Consensus Score Calculation

Our Consensus Score is the average ranking across all sources that rank a given player. We require a minimum of 2 sources to generate a consensus score. For example, if DraftTek ranks a player #3, The Athletic ranks them #5, and FantasyPros ranks them #1, their consensus score is 3.0 (average of 3 + 5 + 1 = 9 รท 3).

We currently use 6 ranking sources for the consensus calculation: DraftTek, ESPN (Yates), FantasyPros, The Athletic (Brugler), NFL.com (Band), and The Ringer (McShay).

The "Most Debated" Metric

The "Most Debated" metric shows the spread between a player's highest and lowest ranking across all sources. A player ranked #3 by one source and #12 by another has a spread of 9 โ€” indicating significant analyst disagreement about their draft position. The bigger the spread, the more "debated" the prospect.

Mock Draft Tracking

Separately from the consensus big board, we track 11 mock draft analysts and where they project each prospect to be selected. This includes pick number and team destination, allowing you to see which teams are most commonly linked to each player.

Our Projected Picks

Our "Our Pick" selections for each draft slot are based on a combination of consensus data, team needs, analyst agreement, and projected trades. When multiple analysts agree on a pick, we weight that heavily. We also factor in reported team interest and pre-draft visits.
